Jelly Ape at Ukeylove
Yesterday evening, I was enjoying a very pleasant glass of wine in the last of the sun when I heard the strangest sound.
Imagine old school video arcade music combined with a ukulele and punky shouty lyrics. Little did I know my local pub, the Snooty Fox was host to the London ukulele event, and I was listening to the brilliant and bizarre work of Jelly Ape.
Armed with his Gameboy and ukulele the Brighton based artist shares hilarious songs about the problems of being a muffin and what it’s like to be a cat with no legs. I was too stunned to record it while I was there but you can hear some of his music on my space. The Snooty Fox has Ukeylove nights on the last Thursday of every month.
